Short Week coming...

I've been woefully neglectful here at the SandCastle and  it's not for lack of blogfodder.  Rather blogging is low in the priority scheme and its been starved for cycles.  In other words, life got in the way.  And when I do start a post, it doesn't pass the QC check and by the time I get back to it, it's old news.

Next week is a short week at the DayJob(tm).  Monday is a holiday and Thursday I will be heading up to GBR VII.    Travel and Lodging arrangements are in place.  Hope to see Y'all there!

However I still haven't decided what to bring, nor how to secure it at the hotel.  Some things I'd like to bring  I don't have any ammunition for.  I have the components but temps at the reloading station are still holding near the mod 90's even at this late hour.  That negatively affects the motivation.  Packing is the priority for the long weekend.

Danno: The first line at the shooting range is forty feet out, and you can shoot out to a gong about 1000 yards. Take push pins or staples; tape doesn't hold up well with the breezes out there in the desert. Take a gun you want to use on steel the second day.

We haven't had any trouble with the help carrying off guns in the room. Just make sure you lock your travel case when you are out. Take Pictures!

It's the closest I've been to empathy for a woman who can't decide which shoes to wear with the rest of the outfit that hasn't been selected yet. The 9mm, .44 or .45? .308, 30-06, or .223? I haven't shot the 7.62x39 in a while, maybe I should...

How much cargo can the air freight service handle?

Just a note:

The hotel is NOT HAPPY with long guns in the rooms. Something about moody loners with rifles in windows looking down on city streets or something. If you do keep them in the room, hide them in the closet or something. They WILL check your firearms with security, if you so desire. Last year I kept my stuff in the trunk of the Mustang. The year before, it was in the bed of my pickup under a hard tonneau cover. Depending on how much concealment the rental SUV has, I may do that again.

I'll have a total travel weight for you shortly.
